With quite a few members finishing cars prior to the Nats at Mt Gambier, our club had no trouble qualifying for the free banner from Rare Spares. Once our members spent $5000 at Rare Spares outlets (showing their club discount card, of course), we received the letter from Rares in Victoria telling us to get our artwork down to them and we'd soon have a new 2.4m x 1.2m club banner.

We decided to get a banner for the 2010 Nationals made that we could display at any car shows or events we hold in the next 18 months or so, to promote the event.

Anyhow, today was the day for us to head on down to American Autos in Homebush to put a dozen cars or so on display and be presented with our new banner.

Norm, Dean and the gang at American Autos laid on sausage and egg sandwiches for brekkie, as well as coffee and tea. Once we'd had our fill we were presented with our banner, which looks great.

Some of the club members in attendance with the banner. That's Norm Oakey at the front in the black jacket.

On top of that, AAP had a gift for us as well - a cooler-box fridge emblazoned with our logo: just the thing for runs in the summer-time.

We had a tour through the premises once they opened up, and the BBQ was fired up again for morning tea. Plenty of customers stopped to check out the display of 13 (a handy number!) FEs and FCs.

A great morning had by all. Thanks Norm, Cheryl, Dean, Kirsty and all the crew at American Auto Parts / Rare Spares for your support.
