Our June run was an afternoon Bowling at Retro Manhattan Super Bowl (Mascot), followed by a cruise and a feed at Harry Cafe de Wheels at Liverpool.
Date: Saturday June 16 2007 The weather was appalling, and only one member dared bring their FC along. Well done Dave! The rest of us piked with our modern cars. Here are some pix from the first (dry) part of the event. Greg shows us all how it's done Ella investigates the wonder of the ball return
Last time I went bowling, it wasn't at a disco...
... and they actually had some lights on.
Using on of these things makes it easier for the kids. (I think I should have used it as well!) The name "Retro Manhattan Bowl" is explained by the cool decor. There's also a '59 Pontiac in there as well, but I didn't get a chance to take a pic of it.
Once we were finished at the bowling, we cruised back down the M5 to Harry's Cafe de Wheels in Liverpool. Alex had driven out to meet us there, but had to leave before we arrived.
Harry's is something of a Sydney institution. Wayne, Ted and Rhonda also met us at Liverpool, where we huddled under the shelter and enjoyed a wicked pie (or two). Then we retired across the road to the Golden Arches for a cuppa in the dry. |
