Dave did most of the work on this car himself, much of it while attending night-time tech to learn panel-beating and spray-painting.  Incredibly, during much of this car's restoration, it continued to be his daily driver.  For quite a few years, it was common to see Dave turn up on a run in this car with only the top half of a door-skin fitted, or a guard held on with three bolts.
