Visiting Wangaratta

While staying in Wangaratta for the FE-FC Holden Nationals don't forget to check out the location attractions.

The Wangaratta Tourist information centre is located at 100 Murphy St, Wangaratta. There is a huge amount of information available from the friendly staff there.

If you want information in advance try their website: https://www.visitwangaratta.com.au/ or check out their official visitor guide - click here.

While google maps is always helpful and your GPS device useful, these maps may help - Wangaratta District Map & Wangaratta township Map (see below also).

North East Victoria is renown for it's wines and vineyards, personal favourites are Brown Brothers in Milawa; Gapsted Wines near Myrtleford and Dal Zotto in Whitfield. For a more complete list of Wineries in the Wangaratta district click here or perhaps try Rutherglen Wineries - the drive via Chiltern (great historic township) is only 40min/55km.

Perhaps you prefer Art Galleries? - try this website.

Other great places to visit include Beechworth (30min/40km), Bright, (1hr/80km), Mt Beauty (via Bright 1hr 35min/110km), Milawa (15min/15km), Corowa (via Rutherglen 35min/50km) or Yarrawonga (45min/60km). Please feel free to seek advice from the Nats Committee using the contact form  or ask us at the Nationals. There will be quite a few locals from the Early Holden Car Club of Wangaratta attending the Nationals as well so seek their recommendations.

If you only have a little time available why not check out The Vine Hotel - a local, well kept secret.... only 5 mins/5km up the old Highway/Bowser Rd.

PS... If you are looking for free camping sites in the Wangaratta district then check this out.
