Welcome to the first Entrant Update for the 13th FE-FC Holden Nationals.

Orange will see over 160 cars at a Nationals for the first time, so it's going to be a huge event. Thank you for supporting the Nats, and we trust that Easter 2010 will be an event you'll long remember. This will also be the first time we've had an entrant from every state and territory participate, so Orange truly will be a national event.

Of course, getting that many cars around the various venues is a big logistical exercise, so we'll be asking for your patience and co-operation when it comes to the convoys. The official programme that you'll receive on your arrival and registration will have some more details on how we like to run convoys to make sure no-one gets lost, and we'll need you to follow them.

On the subject of convoys, have you planned your trip to Orange? Groups from the various states have published their plans on the FE-FC Holden Forum, under the Nationals board. You'll also find contact details for the various convoy leaders. Travelling to and from the Nationals in a convoy is part of the whole adventure, and it's good to be amongst fellow club members should you run into mechanical difficulty (and I'm speaking from experience...)

Friday Picnic Run

Lake CanobolasA lot of entrants are arriving on Thursday (or earlier), and so this year we will be having an optional picnic run to Lake Canobolas. We'd really appreciate an idea of numbers of entrants interested in this activity, so please reply to this message and let us know if your family wants to go. The Lake is a picturesque spot that we can't otherwise fit into our itinerary, and it's only a short drive out of town.

Saturday Night is Fifties Night

Our dinner on Saturday night will have a fifties theme. So get your glad rags on and get into the spirit. There'll be prizes for the best fancy dress, that goes towards the Interstate Challenge. There'll be music and dancing, all in the gorgeous Amoco Centre, the function centre built in the 1950s and home to many a dance night and concert. Everyone from Billy Thorpe to The Easybeats to Gerry & The Pacemakers, to Skyhooks, AC/DC and Cold Chisel have rocked out the Amoco Centre over the years. It's sure to be a great night, so release your inner Bodgie or Widgie, and dress the part!

A couple of entrants have expressed interest in organised child-minding for the evening events. We've done some research and got prices on this. If you have young children attending and would like to consider having them professionally looked after during the evening, please reply to this message and let us know. The final price will reflect the number and age of the children being looked after, so it needs to be pre-arranged.

Official Programme

You will recall that we asked you to provide a photo and some information about your car with your entry form, for inclusion in the official programme. There are a number of entrants for whom we don't have vehicle information, and we would very much like to rectify this. If you have not sent this information in yet, please do so at your earliest opportunity. Send an email to
This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it  with the word 'vehicle' in the subject line, and you'll get the form automatically sent back to you.
It's important that we know what vehicles to expect, so we can organise the appropriate trophies. And we don't want to have holes in the programme that might read "This entrant was too slack to provide this information" (or, you know, words to that effect).

That's enough for this edition. Keep that Chrome Shining, and we'll see you soon in Orange.

Newsflash
A huge gallery of images from Nationals has been added to the site. Check it out! You'll find images from as far back as Adelaide '91, right through to Mt Gambier in 2008.
