Tonight was our first club meeting since returning from Mt Gambier. It was a pretty long one, because not only did we have a lot of photos and discussion of the last Nats, but it was also an opportunity to reprise my presentation about Orange 2010 for our club members unable to attend last month in SA.

We got a lot of club members volunteer their services to help, which is great. Your names have been noted.

We can't possibly have face-to-face meetings to cover every aspect of planning this event. We also need to document everything as we go. We've implemented the use of 37 signal's Basecamp web-based project management software to help us stay on track.

If you're looking for a team management tool, it's pretty hard to go past Basecamp for its simplicity and features. We may even start using it for running general club business as well.

Well, I'm home again.

It's a hell of a drive from Mt Gambier to Sydney. Much as we all love our FE/FCs, there is a certain satisfaction getting off that bench seat for the last time...

Of course, now the real work on Orange 2010 begins.
