TNT at the Easter Show Print E-mail

Well, we had our day at the Royal Easter Show yesterday. Shame about the rain, but otherwise it was a great day for young and old alike.

The Show was also the inaugural club run for Ted's New Toy, his FC Standard Sedan built on the theme of the 13th Nationals logo.

The car certainly got a lot of comments, and with the Nationals banner beside it, looked fantastic.

There are still some sponsors' logos to be added to the car and some other sign-writing details to be added, but she certainly stands out in the crowd. We'll be showing the car at a number of events over the next twelve months, to raise awareness of the Nationals and the club. It's next outing will be Grey Pride, at Berrima on Sunday May 17.

Street Class Print E-mail

It's been several years in gestation, but we've finally thrashed out enough of the basic structure of the Nationals Classing to be able to publish some info on the subject.

There'll be a link in the Entrants' Info area of the site in due course, but long story short, an article was published in the NSW Club's magazine Sideplate this week, and it's being made available to the other clubs for use in their newsletters if they wish.

I'll also be publishing it in its original form here for you to download if you wish.

Next, more info about Authenticity...

TNT Print E-mail

At our club meeting last night we filled in the NSW Club members on what the mysterious "TNT" is all about. I'm pleased to be able to report that it went down very well.

More information will be published here after Sunday, and our day at the Sydney Royal Easter Show. Stay tuned...

Budgeting Print E-mail

Now that the actual event is twelve months away, we've reached a point where we are starting to get firm quotes for some of the expenses involved in running the Nationals. It's our intention to have the entry form for the event available around early July, because we want to give people at least six months to get their entries in.

Of course, we can't publish an entry form until we know how much things are going to cost...

We have lined up a caterer for both Friday and Sunday, who comes highly recommended. We've also received prices and menus for our Saturday night meal. We still need to sort out lunch on Saturday and Sunday, and we should be pretty much organised in the food department.

On the merchandise and memorabilia side, we've got the design of the official shirt finalised, and had a price on getting those made. Same for caps and some other bits and pieces.

As I write this it's occurred to me that this time next year, we'll be heading our separate ways from Bathurst, and the 13th Nats will be over. But there a lot to be done and a lot of fun to be had before then. Stay tuned.
