That has *got* to be some kind of record PDF Print E-mail

Sorry, No Vacancy When we were at Turner's Vineyard last Monday, they had no bookings for the Easter 2010 weekend. So a couple of the committee members booked while we were there.

Today marks 3 days since this site went live, and it's still 22 months until the Nationals.

Yet Turner's Vineyard is already booked out! All 42 rooms, taken Surprised

We could be forgiven for thinking people are pretty keen to come along to the 13th Nationals...

BBQ Breakfast at American Auto Parts (Rare Spares) PDF Print E-mail

With quite a few members finishing cars prior to the Nats at Mt Gambier, our club had no trouble qualifying for the free banner from Rare Spares. Once our members spent $5000 at Rare Spares outlets (showing their club discount card, of course), we received the letter from Rares in Victoria telling us to get our artwork down to them and we'd soon have a new 2.4m x 1.2m club banner.

We decided to get a banner for the 2010 Nationals made that we could display at any car shows or events we hold in the next 18 months or so, to promote the event.

Anyhow, today was the day for us to head on down to American Autos in Homebush to put a dozen cars or so on display and be presented with our new banner.

Not long to go now... PDF Print E-mail

Image I started this thread a couple of days ago, and I think it's had the desired effect of driving the forum users just a little bit mad Laughing

The site goes live over the weekend. It should be interesting to see what happens.

I have warned the staff at Turner's that they're likely to get a few calls next week.

Second Planning Run to Orange PDF Print E-mail

Another very early start this morning, Geoff & Alex were at my place by about 6.30am and John picked us up shortly thereafter for another trip up to Orange.

A short stop in Lithgow to grab a large coffee, and then it was next stop Turner's Vineyard. We had an appointment with the management there to sort things out regarding our use of the venue as Nationals HQ. Fortunately, everyone was happy with the outcome and it's now full steam ahead. They want us to start publicising that they can take bookings now, and they will offer all participants the corporate/NRMA rate.

There are 42 rooms that suit between 2 and 6 people. Get 'em while they're hot.

Newsflash

The 13th FE-FC Nationals will see changes to the way vehicles are classified and judged.

In addition to the age-old "Stock" and "Modified" Classes, there will be a new group that fits in between, called "Street". This group caters for cars that are stock in appearance, but have been improved or modernised in some way, as well as the "period style hottie".

A detailed article on how this new class affects judging, scrutineering and classing will appear here soon.

The FE-FC Holden Nationals continue to be a success because the clubs that run the event work to evolve and improve it, year after year.
