I haven't blogged anywhere near as much as I had originally planned to, and it's getting a bit late to start now. Avid readers of this blogging wasteland might recall a few months back I talked of being disappointed that something we'd planned for the Nationals goodie-bag had fallen through, and then a few weeks later mentioned that it was back on again? Well, the first box of them was delivered today. My front room looks like some sort of bizarre Bargain Shop, with all these boxes of Nats Merchandise everywhere. John Rap's place is much the same, since he's been the lucky recipient of a fair bit of this stuff as well. All I can say is, if you're an entrant, we think you're going to like your goodie-bag. A lot. |

I'm hoping to have the final entrant graphs available in the next day or two, but we've been incredibly busy over the last few weeks since entries officially closed. Here are a few stats: 164 Vehicles 380 People That's a seriously large number of people to look after for 4 days. I mentioned the other day in the last Entrant Update message that it's the equivalent of every Premiership AFL player, reserve and Coach, all needing to be fed at the same time. It's quite an event to organise. We had a club run today, our annual "Breakfast Run", where we put on bacon and egg rolls for all club members who roll up. It's always well attended - there's something about free food that just gets a good turn-out Anyway, it was an opportunity to trial the games events we've got planned for Orange. And by and large, it went pretty well. One of them didn't work as well as we'd hoped, but that's OK, we found something different we could do. The games this year have been designed around the larger 'racing' theme of the Nationals event. We think they'll be a bit of fun, and we trust we'll get strong participation from all the state clubs participating in the Nats. Should be fun. See you in Orange! |

Well we're a week into February now, and the blizzard of last minute entries seems to have tapered off now. If you haven't entered by now, I'm afraid you've missed the boat. The final tally of entrants and vehicles will be available soon, but it looks like we've cracked the 150 vehicle mark. That's right: 150 FEs and FCs at Orange. Thank you to everyone who's supporting the event. |
