Hey Normd,
I did that conversion in the early 70"s to a mates FJ panel van, great conversion just like the 5 speeds now. Big thing back in those days. About 6 months later we put the V8 conversion into the FJ  and then later in my FC panel van. I still have the Datsun G/box and all the parts in my garage somewere!!!
PS Normd keep up the great work you are doing posting all these photes from the past. It really brings back great and forgoten memories

    Cheers Al

Makes you feel old when people show things like this.
I fitted the first kit ( pre production ) into my FJ
And the greasy hands in the photos are mine.

The other article on the Toyota box is slightly incorrect.
My Father bought one of the first imported RT 104's and it was a very nice car.
Jeff Dellow and I went out in it a couple of weeks after it had been delivered and he was curious as to what the gearbox was after producing conversions for the earlier 80 and 81's.
After looking underneath he rang Earlwood Auto wreckers to find out availability. They had just bought a nother NEW total loss Corona and he bought the box and started manufacturing the kit to suit Holdens.
